Alone or Lonely? "But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed" (Luke 5:16, NIV)

The state of man is in constant motion. In recent months we have seen the news coverage of earthquakes, hurricanes and fires; but, natural disasters are minimal compared to being alone or lonely. A person who is alone is one that is isolated from others while a person who is lonely is not alone but absent from company. Thankfully, in Jesus Christ we are all made whole. No matter what has happened in your life whether you have been left alone or just feel lonely. God never leaves you nor forsakes you. Jesus told us, "For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened" (Luke 11:10, English Standard Version). Are we asking for the correct things? Ultimately, the state of the spirit is much more important than the state of the flesh. If you are feeling lonely or alone remember that you are loved. You may not feel loved; but, inevitably and most assuredly you are loved. Somebody today is praying for you and remembers you. I know I am....In times of aloneness, loneliness or illness there is someone who is praying for you.

Dear friend, my prayer for you today is that God's presence will present itself to you in ways that you will take notice.Whether by the kindness of stranger, a warm meal, clean clothes, a simple hug, a generous smile or the energy of a child. His love is present - May you be blessed and may each of your needs be met. In Jesus Name - Amen.
